Welcome to Hockering
Hockering is a rural civic parish in the county of Norfolk, roughly 11 miles from the City of Norwich.

Hockering has several facilities available to the growing community which include:

Village Hall
Local Public House
Shop and Post Office
Play Area
Football Club and Grounds

The local doctors surgery can be found in the nearby villages of Mattishall and Lenwade.
​
The Parish Council
The Parish Council consists of 7 councillors who represent the village on various matters.
The Parish Council is the third tier of local Government, the others being Breckland District Council and Norfolk County Council.
​
We meet at 7.30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at Hockering Village Hall.
​
Members of the public are very welcome to attend meetings and are able to participate during the open forum, which is part of the meeting.
The Parish Council is always happy to receive ideas on how to improve the local facilities.

Hockering Playing Field
​
The playing field is owned by the Charity: Fields in Trust (this is the new name for the National Playing Fields Association)
The management of the playing field is entrusted to the local charity - The Hockering Playing Field Association (HPFA) - for the benefit of the whole Hockering community..
​
The Trustees have all moved away from Hockering so the remaining members of the HPFA have asked Hockering Parish Council to help “re-kindle” the charity.
​

What help do we need?

We need to form a group of 10 or so people who will come together to understand the history of the HPFA, to bring the constitution up-to-date, and create a foundation to re-launch the charity.
Once this is complete, we will arrange elections for the executive committee and trustees.
If you are interested please come to the Village Hall on Thursday 30th April at 7.30pm
The meeting will be open to any adult resident of Hockering and any adult connected to the Hockering Football Club.
